BIOGEA presentation "Assessing European-wide biodiversity-landscape relationships in farmland to improve the ecological effectiveness of the CAP"

Sunday, August 11, 2019

Representatives of the BIOGEA project team participated in the international conference "Ecology across borders: Embedding Ecology in Sustainable Development Goals", organized as the 15th European Ecological Federation (EEF) Congress, held from July 29th to August 2nd, 2019 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon in Lisbon, Portugal.

Dr. Mario Díaz, Dr. Cristina Bastias and Dr. Elena Daniela Concepción from the National Museum of Natural Sciences of Spain, a BIOGEA project partner, presented the findings of a study titled "Assessing European-wide biodiversity-landscape relationships in farmland to improve the ecological effectiveness of the Common Agricultural Policy", where they presented the works developed to model local biodiversity-landscape relationships along a wide gradient of landscape complexity throughout Europe. Results will be essential for the necessary regional adjustment of CAP policy instruments to ensure biodiversity conservation across European agricultural landscapes.
