Representatives of BIOGEA project took part in the workshop "CAP at Crossroads: Unity in Sustainability Makes Strength", which was held on June 4th, 2018 in the National Museum "Earth and Man" in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event discussed biodiversity preservation in the context of the current implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the future shift towards a more targeted and results-based policy post 2020. Practical examples and lessons learnt from nature conservation projects on agricultural land from Bulgaria and Europe were presented. More than 70 representatives of different stakeholders participated in the conference. Organizers of the event were NABU (BirdLife in Germany), the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB), the Association „Europe and We“, BirdLife Europe and the European Environmental Bureau.
